Giuliani Calls Russia Indictments ‘Good News’: Time for Mueller to Say Trump’s ‘Completely Innocent’
Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani said today the indictments of 12 Russian intel officers on charges of hacking the DNC and Hillary Clinton‘s campaign are good news.
He has, however, extrapolated from all this that it is time for Robert Mueller to pronounce President Donald Trump innocent:
The indictments Rod Rosenstein announced are good news for all Americans. The Russians are nailed. No Americans are involved. Time for Mueller to end this pursuit of the President and say President Trump is completely innocent.

The DOJ announcement actually says, “There is no allegation in this indictment that any American citizen committed a crime.”
And people had to correct the President’s lawyer on the day’s news:
Rosenstein didn’t say “no Americans are involved.” What he said is this particular indictment doesn’t make such an allegation and that the Mueller investigation into that question is ongoing. https://t.co/6hxmWVA2pn

The indictment alleges that on the day the president asked Russia to find her emails, Russian government hackers tried to break into Clinton's personal email server for the first time https://t.co/TOP7SFsUsh

Yet again, Trump Team uses Rosensteins's announcement to mislead about what he said. He didn't say Americans were all innocent. Just none charged here. https://t.co/btQRVTMvCj

Also, as far as “no Americans are involved” is concerned, the indictment itself says a candidate for U.S. Congress requested and received stolen documents.
