Glenn Beck Condemns Blacklisting of Penelope Cruz, Bardem over Gaza Support
Glenn Beck could not disagree more with Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem when it comes to Israel, but he’s incredibly opposed to the idea of blacklisting them just for expressing a point of view. He said he believes Cruz and Bardem are “standing up for Hamas, but I believe in more speech and not less.”
Beck said we have free speech for a reason, and there’s something to people with “the courage to speak their minds,” because then it helps add to a conversation where everyone gets to take part.
Jon Voight, the actor who spoke out strongly in condemnation of Cruz and Bardem, spoke out against blacklisting them too, and Beck echoed those sentiments.
“We need to remain willing to tolerate the speech that we despise. We need to not just tolerate it, we need to stand behind it, if it is threatened. That’s one of the lowest rungs on the ladder of justice––that’s it––that people have the right to speak their mind.”
