Glenn Beck today made the case for naming Michael Brown the person of the year. But it wasn’t exactly the most positive endorsement.
Beck first said, “If you look at Michael Brown, I think that he is a candidate for person of the year, because he has dominated the news.”
But here’s how Beck explained the decision:
“He has been… his illegal activity in the first place is being excused, and that’s where society is going. He was then––turned on a cop, threatened a cop, was in a scuffle with a cop, gets killed, nobody pays attention. Because of him, we now have protests.”
Beck brought up how some black witnesses in Ferguson were “too afraid of their own community” to speak out and observed, “Just about every story in America you need to tell can be told through the Michael Brown story… You can tell the lies that America’s the most racist place in the world.”
