GOP Candidate Stands by Calling for Obama’s Hanging, Compares Him to George Zimmerman
A Republican candidate running for the Florida state House came under fire this week for calling for President Obama‘s hanging, and he ended up getting a visit from the Secret Service. But Joshua Black is standing by what he said, and now he’s even comparing the president to George Zimmerman.
In his follow-up remarks Black acknowledged that “we don’t use hanging as a method of execution here in the U.S. anymore”; he just wants “justice to be served” no matter what form it’s carried out in.
He went on to make this comparison between Obama and Zimmerman.
“When George Zimmerman killed Trayvon Martin, he got a trial. And whatever was going to happen had to come out of that trial. President Obama kills a 15-year-old, somebody else’s teenage son, and gets no trial?”
Black is referring to the son of U.S. citizen and Islamic militant Anwar al-Awlaki, who was killed by a drone strike.
