GOP Rep. Trey Radel Arrested for Cocaine Possession

Republican Congressman Trey Radel, a freshman federal lawmaker from Florida, was reportedly arrested in Washington, D.C., for possession of cocaine.

According to D.C. Superior Court documents reported in Politico show the 37-year-old Republican was arrested on October 29 in D.C.

He was officially charged with misdemeanor possession of cocaine on Tuesday. His first court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday.

The last time we saw Radel in Mediaite’s pages, he was defending MSNBC host Rachel Maddow‘s honor from a conservative Twitter troll; before that, he explained to NowThisNews why he considers himself a “hip-hop Republican.”

Radel’s office has yet to release a statement on the news.
