Green Party Nominee Jill Stein: Clinton’s Policies Are an ‘Offense to Concept of Feminism’

Speaking to The Young TurksCenk Uygur in a video interview published Wednesday, Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein said it was “an offense to the concept of feminism” to claim that Hillary Clinton represented feminism simply because of her “chromosomes.”

“Of course, I think it’s an insult to the concept of feminism,” Stein said, “To say that feminism is the gender you are born with, period, and that’s feminism. That’s outrageous to say it’s simply a question of what your chromosomes happen to be.”

She added, “Feminism is much more than that. It’s about peace, it’s about justice, it’s about rights for women as caretakers and caregivers. And the broader agenda of the woman needs to be consistent with that and in Hillary’s case, it’s not. I think it’s an offense to the concept of feminism to say that Hillary Clinton and her advocacy for war, for Wall Street, and for the Wal-Mart economy, represents feminism. By no means.”
