Bill Murray‘s dream sports year continues.
First, Murray’s beloved Chicago Cubs broke their 108-year World Series drought and captured the Fall Classic in stunning fashion.
And now Xavier — where the actor’s son, Luke Murray, is an assistant coach — is on a magical NCAA Tournament run. Thursday night, the No. 11 seed Musketeers stunned No. 2 Arizona 73-71 in the West Region semis, to punch their ticket to the Elite Eight. They’ll play Gonzaga on Saturday, with the winner earning a spot in the Final Four.
Murray was in attendance on Thursday night, just as he was for all of the Cubs’ World Series games. And he was simply ecstatic. In the video above, you can see him tousling a fellow Xavier fan’s hair in the stands.

“It was really like a great platoon movie,” Murray said, in a video posted to Xavier basketball’s official Twitter account. “Like ‘The Dirty Dozen,’ or something, where a different guy comes in and saves everyone’s bacon one after another. They all took turns. Gosh, it was fun to see ’em win. Gosh, that was fun.”
