High Schooler Launches Petition to Get His Awesome Cat Photo into Yearbook
High school senior Draven Rodriguez wants to be remembered in his yearbook — really remembered — and has the perfect plan to do so: add a cat and multiple lasers into his senior portrait.
“I don’t want to go in the yearbook with the generic ‘I-look-like-everyone-else’ photo,” he told the Schenectady Daily Gazette. “I wanted a ‘He looks great. Only he would try that’ photo.”
To that end — and to pre-empt some likely killjoys at his high school — Rodriguez launched an online petition to get him and his cat, Mr. Bigglesworth, into the senior portrait section. “This is my photo that should be going into the yearbook, but we know how finicky the school systems can be,” he pled. “I wanted as many backers as possible before the deadline of September 15th.”
At the same time, some lame people in the Schenectady school district may shut down his plans. “It doesn’t mean the photo won’t be in the yearbook,” said a representative. “It just means it won’t be in the section where the more professional photos are.”
Laser cats can be used either for good or for evil.
