As poll numbers have shifted in recent weeks, one thing that has remained fairly consistent is the fact that both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are historically unpopular with the electorate.
For her part, Hillary Clinton appears to be aware of the fact that much of the country is unhappy, not just with the candidates, but with the overall political climate.
Speaking at Temple University on Monday, the former Secretary of State said bluntly: “This election in particular can be downright depressing sometimes.”
Clinton’s appearance at Temple comes as part of her new appeal to millenial voters. Her remarks Monday were squarely aimed at young voters who have been backing libertarian nominee Gary Johnson and green party candidate Jill Stein.
“Even if you are totally opposed to Donald Trump, you may still have some questions about me,” Clinton said. “I get that.”
