Hillary Clinton‘s official Twitter account celebrated the French election in a tweet that took a shot at the media reaction to her comments about election interference.
There have been a few parallels drawn between France’s election and the 2016 U.S. election, especially between Emmanuel Macron and Hillary Clinton after the dump of alleged Macron campaign emails online this past weekend.
A few days beforehand, Clinton said that she would have won if not for James Comey and Wikileaks.
She talked a bit about Russian interference in the election and external factors that led to her loss to Donald Trump, which some media observers felt was at odds with her comment about taking personal responsibility for that loss. (David Axelrod said, “Jim Comey didn’t tell her not to campaign in Wisconsin after the convention.”)
Well, today Clinton tweeted this out:
Victory for Macron, for France, the EU, & the world.
Defeat to those interfering w/democracy. (But the media says I can't talk about that)
