Hillary: Trump’s Vulgarity is No Shock; ‘Bigotry, Bluster, Bullying Have Become His Campaign’

During a campaign stretch in Iowa, Hillary Clinton gave an interview where she issued her first response to Donald Trump since he started attacking her for her comments at Saturday’s Democratic Debate.

Clinton, at the debate, argued that Trump’s inflammatory points on Muslims make him the “best recruiter” for ISIS, and that the radicalized group uses videos of him as part of their indoctrination propaganda. Trump responded by upping his attacks and demanding an apology for Clinton’s unproven claim, but he sparked another controversy for himself for saying her use of the restroom during the debate was “disgusting,” and said she got “schlonged” by President Obama in 2008.

Speaking with the Des Moines Register, Clinton said that Trump’s remarks were just another display of blatant sexism to her, and that she “deplores” his repeated use of divisive rhetoric.

“Nothing really surprises me anymore. I don’t know that he has any boundaries at all,” Clinton said. “His bigotry, his bluster, his bullying have become his campaign. And he has to keep sort of upping the stakes and going even further.”

Clinton continued to say that she would make no personal comments about the matter because Trump “thrives on that kind of exchange.” When it came to the subject of her claims about him, Clinton defended herself by saying that it was “pretty clear” that Arabic media coverage of Trump makes it easier for ISIS to portray Americans as the enemies of Islam.
