The 11th NFL Sunday of the season wraps up with a fascinating NFC East showdown with high stakes. It’s the Dallas Cowboys vs. the Philadelphia Eagles in Arlington, TX, in a game that’s certain to draw an enormous audience.
The Cowboys, at 5-4, are in a bit of trouble — given both the competitiveness of the NFC, and the injury and suspension depletions to their roster. Ezekiel Elliott is sitting out the second of his six games for domestic violence on Sunday night. Linebacker Sean Lee is out, and reports have star left tackle Tyron Smith out as well. Still, there is talent on the roster. Quarterback Dak Prescott will try to put some points on the board, as the Cowboys figure to need lots of them to match a potent Eagles attack.
The Eagles own the best record in the NFL at 8-1. Second year quarterback Carson Wentz is proving to be a superstar, and could well be the league MVP if he continues to play at his current level. Philadelphia seems to have very few flaws. And the road to the Super Bowl might travel through them. But a loss Sunday night would put the NFC East, which seems to be all but locked up, very much back into play.
Coverage begins at 8:15 p.m. on NBC. Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth have the call. The action will be streamed live on the NBC Sports website, and can also be streamed on mobile devices via the NBC Sports app. The app can be downloaded via Apple’s iTunes Store and the Google Play Store. A cable subscription is required for the free stream.
