The scene shifts to the Bronx for Monday night — and not a moment too soon for the Yankees. New York heads home Monday night trailing the Houston Astros two games to none in the ALCS.
The Yankees bats have gone silent through the first two games of the series — having managed to scratch out only one run in each contest. New York’s rookie sensation Aaron Judge has struggled. The 25-year-old phenom has gone two for his last 27 with 19 strikeouts. The Yankees sorely need him to return to his regular season form if they are to have a chance.
Houston has gotten some brilliant pitching from Dallas Keuchel and Justin Verlander over the first two games. But they figure to struggle a bit more on the mound over the next two nights. Can the Astros fare as well in a battle of the bullpens?
C.C. Sabathia — who got the start in the decisive ALDS Game 5 over Cleveland — gets the ball for the Yankees, while Charlie Morton takes the hill for Houston.
First pitch is at 8:08 p.m. ET. The game will air on Fox Sports 1. Joe Buck and John Smoltz have the call. The action can be streamed free with a cable subscription on pc, cell phone, or tablet via Fox Sports Go — which can be downloaded via the iTunes store, and the Google Play store.
