Hugh Hewitt: Christie Needs to Say in No Uncertain Terms ‘I Am Not a Bridge-Closer’

Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt took on Chris Christie‘s big headache Wednesday night, saying that unless the governor gets out in front of this and says “in Nixonian terms, ‘I am not a bridge-closer,'” this is going to turn into an even bigger headache for him.

Hewitt read off the biggest headlines on Mediaite today (mostly Christie-related, mixed in with some Dennis Rodman) to make the point of exactly how seriously the media is taking this story; it has almost totally eclipsed the revelations in Robert Gates‘ book. He said that whoever was involved in the George Washington Bridge lane closures should go. He joked, “Throw ’em off the bridge!”

Because, as Hewitt put it, “when something like this happens, Democrats realize they can bleed the biggest threat they’ve got to the White House.”
