Huntsman Swipes at His Former Chief of Staff Chaffetz: ‘Self-Promoter,’ ‘Power-Hungry’
Remember Jon Huntsman? You probably know him best as the Mitt Romney sorta-doppleganger who ran for president in 2012 and wasn’t exactly a favorite of conservatives. He’s been kinda quiet since that election, but one of his tweets tonight is getting some attention for a shot he took at Jason Chaffetz.
Chaffetz, of course, is the Utah Republican making a long-shot bid for Speaker of the House, trying to establish himself as an alternative to the presumed favorite Kevin McCarthy. Chaffetz likes and respects McCarthy, but has criticized him for his inability to bring people together and his lack of good communication skills.
Huntsman tweeted out tonight that Chaffetz is both a “self-promoter” and “power-hungry”:
.@GOPLeader McCarthy just got "Chaffetzed."Something I know a little something about. #selfpromoter #powerhungry

And in case you’re wondering what Huntsman’s talking about, Chaffetz used to be his chief of staff.
Ouch.
Yes, Chaffetz was Huntsman’s 2004 gubernatorial campaign manager and his chief of staff until 2005. And, again, in case you’re wondering what could have possibly happened between them since then, feast your eyes on this:
