With the country currently heading into the third day of widespread demonstrations protesting Trump’s election, Thompson noted that he may need to take a bit of a break from social media because he is just feeling too much over the amount of pain the right and left are inflicting on each other.
Explaining that the two sides fear each other, Thompson noted that those on the right fear the left because of the “power of their voice.” He pointed out to the left that they are becoming what they supposedly hate when they use that voice to “beat people down for not thinking the same way you do.”
He was also concerned that people from groups that were initially protesting under the banner of equality are now just doing it for revenge, which he warned would create an empty feeling, even if you obtain
At the same time, ho noted that folks from certain minority groups do feel that they are constantly under attack over things they cannot control, such as their sexuality or skin color. In the end, he said the solution is that we need to talk to each other.
