‘I Don’t Need to Respond to Jake’: Spicer Says Tapper Was Looking for Attention With ‘Earth is Flat’ Comment

Appearing on Fox News’ MediaBuzz, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer was asked about a comment made by CNN anchor Jake Tapper following Spicer’s press briefing on Thursday when he defended President Donald Trump‘s wiretap claims by reading off a long list of media reports.

“After your briefing, the contentious one,” host Howie Kurtz stated. “CNN’s Jake Tapper said you can’t defend the indefensible and you are arguing the earth is flat.”

“I think if you look at some of the stuff that’s been perpetuated there — I don’t need to respond to Jake,” Spicer replied. “I think he’s looking to get whatever attention he can at this point.”

Kurtz moved on to ask about stories coming out of the White House regarding paranoia among staffers and chaos in the administration, with Spicer saying that’s coming from around the White House but not in it.
