‘I See it as a Symbol of Hate’: Mexicans Tell Mediate What They Think of Trump’s MAGA Hats

In a post we published yesterday, we highlighted conversations Mediaite’s Travis Irvine had with a number of Mexican residents he ran into while observing International Women’s Day demonstrations in Mexico City. In that video, he asked a number of folks to respond to President Donald Trump’s saying Mexico had some “bad hombres.”

In this newest clip, Irvine presents Trump’s iconic ‘Make America Great Again’ red baseball cap to Mexicans and asks them to weigh in with their thoughts. And most of them had some very strong opinions indeed.

“I don’t know, I see it as a symbol of hate and a symbol of wrongdoing,” one young woman told Irvine. “It’s gross…take it away from me!”

Others stated that they felt the hat was “ridiculous,” it “was too red,” and that “America was greater before he was a president.”

Watch the video above to also see more opinions from Mexicans on the MAGA hat and President Trump in general.
