The Steelers were never really competitive with the Patriots in the AFC Championship on Sunday night, losing in blowout fashion to the AFC juggernaut, 36-17. Though it probably wouldn’t have changed the outcome, it probably would have helped it least a little if they’d had an undisturbed night of sleep in advance of the game. That didn’t happen — as a fire alarm was pulled at the hotel where they were staying in the middle of the night, waking many of the players.
Massachusetts State Police arrested Dennis Harrison for falsely pulling the alarm early Sunday morning. Harrison, according to The Boston Globe is alleged to have entered the Boston Hilton Logan Airport, walked up to the second floor, and pulled the alarm.
Why did he do this? Well, according to the Globe, this is what Harrison told State Police after he was apprehended:
“I’m drunk. I’m stupid. I’m a Pats fan.”
Harrison pleaded not guilty on Monday to charges of disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace and setting off a false fire alarm. He was released on his own recognizance.
