In the closely watched battleground state of New Hampshire, incumbent Republican Kelly Ayotte is defending her seat against Democratic challenger Maggie Hassan.
As of Monday afternoon, the polls gave Ayotte a slight edge. RealClearPolitics average of recent polls showed Ayotte ahead with a 1.5-point lead, and FiveThirtyEight gave her a 52.1% chance of holding on to her seat.
Like many Republicans, Ayotte has had difficulty grappling with the man at the top of the ticket.
She said that Trump was a good role model for children days before the “grab ’em by the pussy” video leaked. She then said that the comments were “totally inappropriate and offensive.” In a Nov. 2 interview, she said that neither Clinton nor Trump exhibited good character.
The polls close at 7:00 p.m. eastern time. We will update with the reported results as soon as they come in.
