‘It Was Agonizing, Actually’: Carol Costello Tells Mediaite About Her Decision to Leave CNN
Following the news she broke on her broadcast earlier today about this being her last week at the network, CNN’s Carol Costello spoke to Mediaite’s Travis Irvine about her decision.
Asked by Irvine about her announcement to leave CNN for HLN, Costello told him that it was extremely difficult.
“It was such a hard decision,” the anchor said. “It was — it was agonizing, actually.”
She went on to highlight that she is doing this due to her husband getting a job in California and not wanting to be so far away from him.
“It was a very personal decision because my husband got a great job on the West Coast in Los Angeles,” Costello explained. “We’ve been doing a long-distance commute thing for a year and I miss him.”
Check out the video above to see what Costello had to say regarding what she’ll miss most about CNN along with how different it will be living in Los Angeles compared to New York.
This is an ongoing series featuring Mediaite’s Travis Irvine approaching your favorite cable news personalities to ask them the questions they might not get asked on television. Check in with Mediaite regularly to see who our “gentleman’s paparazzi” will find next!
