Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner are going to China.
The first daughter and her husband, the unofficial secretary of everything, will be visiting the Communist nation at some point in the future, sources familiar with the matter confirmed to Bloomberg.
As of this writing, no details about the trip have been released and much likely remains to be worked out. It is unclear whether they will meet with Chinese president Xi Jinping, but much will reportedly depend on the internal conditions present in the country.
The pair recently met up with The United States’ incoming ambassador to China Terry Branstad at — of course — the Trump organization’s flashy new hotel in D.C. Branstad is expected to depart for China on Friday, Bloomberg reported.
Ivanka Trump is known to be popular in the Communist nation which has developed a large professional class of working women. She became a mini sensation when footage of her daughter Arabella speaking in Chinese to President Xi Jinping during his visit to Mar-a-Lago went viral on Chinese social media.
Her father’s relationship to the country has been more complicated. During the campaign, Donald Trump blasted China as a currency manipulator and after his inauguration caused a minor international incident by taking a call from Taiwanese president Tsai Ing-wen.
