Ivanka Trump Defends Her Dad on Megyn Kelly Feud and Accusations of Sexism
Donald Trump‘s daughter Ivanka Trump spoke at Fortune‘s Most Powerful Women summit this morning, where she offered her thoughts about her father’s run for president and his various conflicts with Fox News.
When asked about the questioning from Megyn Kelly that her father complained about after the first debate, she said that the media fallout on his treatment of women was highly exaggerated.
“That was very sensationalized, very much sort of for TV what transpired both during the debate and following in terms of the amount of interest and analysis of the feud,” Trump said. Asked whether she offered commentary on her father’s bombastic comments, she continued to say that, “truthfully, it didn’t interest me that much.”
Trump addressed her experiences as an executive of Trump Organization and head of her own firm, saying that her father’s deep belief in women allowed her to achieve success. She said she was not surprised by her father’s frontrunner status in the GOP and said that whether you love or hate him, his outsider approach has changed the nature of the 2016 campaign.
“He says what he’s thinking,” she said. “Whether you disagree or you agree, I think people appreciate the candor of his dialogue.”
