J.K. Rowling Remembers Young Orlando Victim Who Worked at Harry Potter Theme Park
As more information emerges about the victims who were killed in the senseless tragedy this weekend in Orlando, law enforcement and the FBI are working to continue the painful process of identifying those killed and notifying next of kin. The identities of some of those killed are being released this morning, and Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling took to Twitter to reveal that a young man who worked at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter was among those murdered in cold blood.

Luis Vielma was a 22-year-old Floridian who was employed by Universal Orlando at the Harry Potter-inspired theme park. Vielma was a ride worker at the park, which released the following statement following the announcement that Vielma was among the dead:

One of Vielma’s coworkers at the park, Justin Muniz, thanked Rowling for her Tweet, writing, “Luis Vielma loved every bit of working at the harry potter ride. He brought smiles to every one he met.” Rowling has used the social media platform in the hours since the tragedy to Retweet and share messages of love and support for the Orlando victims to her nearly 8 million Twitter followers.
