CNN’s Jake Tapper joined conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt on Tuesday for a discussion that touched on Hillary Clinton‘s 2016 chances and whether she’ll be able to overcome her association with President Obama, as well as her personal opinion on Obamacare. Tapper doubted Clinton would dare sound off on Obamacare voluntarily for the foreseeable future.
Hewitt referred to Clinton as “Obamacare’s grandmother,” given the health care reform she tried to push back in the 90s. Tapper brought up Bill Clinton‘s comments about the health care law, suggesting they may very well have been a subtle way of distancing “the Clinton brand” from Obamacare.
He continued, “Hillary Clinton hasn’t said anything about Obamacare, and if I were her, I probably wouldn’t until the bill has had more time to play out and have the kinks worked out.”
Tapper also told Hewitt she is now just as linked to the legacy of the Obama administration as she was to her husband’s, if not more so.
