Joe Scarborough closed out Tuesday’s Morning Joe with some more mockery of President Trump — and a shout out to this humble publication.
The host specifically took aim at Trump’s unusually prolific morning tweeting cable news analysis.
“Very exciting news. Donald Trump, President of the United States has a new job. He’s now working at TVNewser,” quipped Scarborough.
“He’s really deeply, deeply engrossed in the comings and goings of cable news,” said the show’s in-house comedian Willie Geist. “His latest tweet is ‘fake news CNN is looking at big management changes.’
“This is something we might see in Mediaite,” said Scarborough in disbelief.
Geist continued reading. “One of nine tweets this morning”
“Nine tweets, all media tweets,” said Joe.
Of course, while Scarborough is correct, any such analysis from us would come with a bit more nuance than that offered by the leader of the free world this morning.
It wasn’t just Joe and friends who went after Trump. The president’s ratings jabs prompted a response from the normally restrained @CNNPR. “CNN just posted it’s most-watched second quarter in history. Those are the facts,” the account informed him with evident annoyance.

With his health care bill in the balance, the president will likely have bigger things on his mind today now that the morning shows are over.
