Since retiring from The Daily Show, Jon Stewart has popped back into public life a few times to insult Donald Trump, but for the most part, he has been using his retirement to be a fairy godfather for a variety of hurt animals.
The owner of an animal sanctuary has been very busy in his retirement, in fact. In April, he showed up to rescue a bull that was found wandering around Queens, New York. Now, he’s adopting a horse who was shot over 100 times with a paintball gun, which resulted in the loss of one of her eyes, among other injuries.
The 20-year-old horse, Lily, has been taken in by Stewart and his wife, Tracey, according to CBS Boston. She was found at a sales stable in Pennsylvania where the Lancaster County SPCA had been caring for her.
The man who shot her, Phillip Price, of East Providence, Rhode Island, was convicted of animal cruelty last Friday.
