Jon Stewart Goes to His Thanksgiving Happy Place to Cope With Trump’s Big Win
For years as the wildly popular host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, funnyman Jon Stewart ended each episode with a segment known as the “Moment of Zen,” a quirky and relaxing look at some news oddity.
Stewart made his grand return to the world of “Zen” (sort of) on Monday night by appearing on Full Frontal with Samantha Bee on TBS, popping up in the show’s closing bit to demonstrate exactly what his post-Election happy place looks like.
The brief segment filmed outside of the Full Frontal offices — titled “An Exercise in Escapism” — came right after Bee sent her holiday well wishes to her (presumably all liberal) audience.
“Thanksgiving is coming up and I want to wish everyone peace and comfort, whether your holiday involved drinking enough to cope with your dad’s joy or hastily marrying whichever of your friends seems most likely to get deported, or just binge-watching 93 hours of West Wing,” Bee joked.
Stewart can then be seen shading a Thanksgiving turkey with colored pencils, and considering how vociferously he campaigned against Trump’s candidacy, a little R&R might just be the best thing for him.
