Jorge Ramos Takes to Twitter to Slam Obama for Broken Promises on Immigration
Fusion anchor Jorge Ramos really went after President Obama today after news broke that he’d be delaying any executive action on immigration until after the midterms. White House officials partly attributed this to Republican election-year politics.
But for Ramos, this also represents a political play on Obama’s part, as well as the second time the president will have broken a promise on immigration reform.
President @BarackObama once again delays action on immigration. He promised on June 30th to act before the end of the summer. Now he won't.

@BarackObama promised to introduce immigration reform in 2009. Then to act before the 2014 summer. In both cases, he didn't keep his word.

This presidential delay means that more innocent people will be deported and more families separated. It's the triumph of partisan politics.

Back in 2012, Ramos brought up that first broken promise about getting immigration reform done his first year as president. Ramos pressed Obama to admit he didn’t keep his promise, but Obama insisted that he had to switch priorities to deal with the global financial crisis.
Ramos responded, “You promised that. A promise is a promise. And with all due respect, you didn’t keep that promise.” Obama maintained he still wanted to get it done, he just needs cooperation from Congress first.
