Journalists from WaPo, Slate, Time, and National Review to Debate Trump’s First 100 Days

The Intelligence Squared debates are back! And just in time for Donald Trump‘s 100th day as president!

You might remember the “Give Trump a Chance” debate from February 1, which saw Bloomberg View‘s Clive Cook and political analyst and attorney Gayle Trotter arguing with the Atlantic‘s senior editor, David Frum, and Michael Waldman, the president of Brennan Center for Justice, over whether Trump has had too many or too few chances to prove himself.

Now, next Monday, April 24, Intelligence Squared is hosting another debate and this time, they’re changing the format a little.

The debate, titled “Unresolved: Trump’s First 100 Days,” will feature Jamelle Bouie, Slate‘s Chief Political Correspondent; Ian Bremmer, President and founder of Eurasia Group; Kansas Secretary of state Kris KobachRich LowryNational Review‘s editor; and, Jennifer Rubin, of the Washington Post‘s “Right Turn” blog.

What’s different this time? Well this is Intelligence Squared’s tenth year as a radio show and podcast, so they’re switching up their format. Instead of debating a single motion like usual, the debate will be broken down into four motions, addressing foreign policy, the economy, Trump’s cabinet, and the media. Here are the four motions:

– “America First is a sound policy direction”

– “The stock market is saying Trump is good for the economy”

– “Trump has picked a terrific team”

– “The press IS out to get Trump”

Before each debate and after it, the audience will vote on the motion. At the end of the evening, the votes will be analyzed to determine which arguments were truly persuasive.

Like last time, you can watch right here on Mediaite. The embedded video below will spring to life on Monday at 7:00 p.m. EST. If you’re in New York, you can see it live for $40. Go here for more.
