Tune your bedtime to open-G, kiddos: Dirty Mac guitarist Keith Richards has written a children’s book.
Gus & Me: The Story of My Granddad and My First Guitar is about Richards’ childhood with his jazz-musician grandfather Theodore Augustus Dupree.
“I have just become a grandfather for the fifth time, so I know what I’m talking about,” Richards said. “The bond, the special bond, between kids and grandparents is unique and should be treasured. This is a story of one of those magical moments. May I be as great a grandfather as Gus was to me.”
The book was co-written with two others (shall we call them the Darryl Joneses of the project? Eh) and will feature illustrations from Richards’ daughter. No word yet as to whether the book will contain advice on staying upright in coconut trees.
