When Kim Davis spoke out to ABC News this week, she said she has gay friends she denied marriage licenses to. “I have friends who are gay and lesbians,” she said. “They know where I stand. And we don’t agree on this issue and we’re okay because we respect each other.”
Well, after she said that, The Daily Beast attempted to find one of those friends, but with no luck.
But today Dallas Black came forward to say he’s gay and knows Davis well. He told The Daily Beast he spoke with her after she got national attention for her refusal to give marriage licenses to gay couples, saying that “we talked about how each other were feeling, and how we’re gonna be friends even after all this.”
But he doesn’t like seeing what she’s doing now…
“I really don’t know who Kim is at the moment. I really want to believe that the kind, sweet person who was there when my mom passed away is still there,” he said. “I was friends with Kim in the past, but I don’t know this woman I’ve been seeing…
“I somewhat feel like she is taking this to an extreme, because she didn’t become a Christian until four years ago.”
That being said, Black admitted if Davis came to him for support, he would provide it.
