Rush Limbaugh took on the Ray Rice controversy today, and managed to bring politics into it, drawing a comparison between how the NFL and Ravens fans viewed Rice and how people viewed and still view Bill Clinton.
Limbaugh observed how the NFL knew what Rice did, but it took the full video coming out to force their hand and kick him out. And Limbaugh saw a “political connection” there because of Clinton’s previous scandals.
He made this argument linking both scandals:
“Remember how the Baltimore fans, the Ravens fans cheered Ray Rice and showed up in his jersey and women fans in pink jerseys with Ray Rice’s number at their training camp, summer training camped when he showed up?… Okay, how about Bill Clinton? Juanita Broaddrick?
“There’s no tape of it. All there is is a story and her busted lip. We have all the other Clinton transgressions, but none of them mattered a whit because Clinton was the leader of their team, the Democrats, and the media as well. So people will support reprobates and derelicts and thugs if those people help their team win, be it in sports or politics.”
