Despite holding many of the same beliefs as her, not everyone on the right is completely on board with Pamela Geller putting on “Draw Muhammad” cartoon contests. Laura Ingraham and Greta Van Susteren both said it’s wrong, but the biggest voice on the right scolding Geller for the inappropriateness of the event is Bill O’Reilly.
A caller to Rush Limbaugh‘s show today brought up what O’Reilly said, and thought it was bad form for anyone to “chastise” her. Limbaugh specifically brought up criticisms leveled at Geller by O’Reilly and said, “That line of thought is taken by conservatives who want to show liberals that they’re reasonable and that they’re not part of the right-wing wacko kook fringe.”
Yes, to Limbaugh, people like O’Reilly are just saying these things about Geller not just to “misstate” her purpose, but to schmooze with “people in the New York-Boston corridor.”
