Limbaugh: Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama ‘Sympathize with Boko Haram’
Rush Limbaugh has been very critical of the hashtag activism behind the Boko Haram #BringBackOurGirls campaign. He has repeatedly mocked the very idea of a Twitter campaign and said it makes President Obama look “impotent and pathetic.” Limbaugh got quite a lot of pushback, especially from Jon Stewart, but Limbaugh stuck to his comments today and asserted that the White House and Michelle Obama actually sympathize with the terrorist group.
Limbaugh was going off a piece by FrontPage Mag‘s Daniel Greenfield, who argues that the administration’s real problem with Nigeria is how the government oppresses Muslims, leading to the formation of a Boko Haram. He argues that #BringBackOurGirls “undermines the Nigerian government,” and the hashtag campaign is ultimately “aimed at helping the terrorists.”
Limbaugh elaborated on this point and asserted that not only does the White House want to help Boko Haram, but they actually have sympathy for them:
“The hashtag politics isn’t aimed at the terrorists, it’s aimed at helping them. The regime, Hillary, Michelle Obama, sympathize with Boko Haram. They’re blaming the Nigerian, the Christian Nigerian government, for creating Boko Haram.”
Limbaugh predicted that despite the pointlessness of the hashtag activism, when the situation with the missing girls is settled, “that hashtags is gonna be given credit” no matter what.
