Rush Limbaugh has been making it pretty clear this week that he has no interest in tearing down Donald Trump, and today he further clarified exactly why.
He admits that Trump’s rambling abortion answer to Chris Matthews was “an utter disaster,” but when callers confronted him yesterday about spinning for the GOP frontrunner, Limbaugh insisted he was doing no such thing and was just trying to “explain” from a neutral position.
Today he continued to get frustrated with people accusing him of defending Trump, saying, “My effort’s not to defend Trump, it is to try to limit the damage.”
He is of the strong opinion that it doesn’t matter what happens on the Republican side because what matters most is beating the Democrats.
Later on in his show, Limbaugh said that when the GOP “screws up, I want to try to limit the damage of the screw-up and limit the damage of the mistake.”
