Rolling Stone has officially retracted its controversial UVA rape story after a devastating review released yesterday. Sabrina Erdely apologized and Jann Wenner called “Jackie” “an expert fabulist,” but Rush Limbaugh has a piping hot take on the broader meaning of this whole affair.
On his radio show today, Limbaugh said, “Where liberalism is concerned, the nature of the evidence is irrelevant. It is the seriousness of the charge that matters.” In other words, he said, liberals don’t care about the facts.
And even when it turns out the facts are against them, Limbaugh argued, they just claim their “honorable intentions” were good enough:
“This is corruption, journalistic malpractice, I don’t care what you want to call it, and everybody involved on the left is doing what they always do, they’re circling the wagons just like they did for Dan Blather, just like they tried to do for Brian Williams.”
