Majority in Fox Poll Say Obama, Senate Should Fill SCOTUS Vacancy Immediately
A new Fox News poll finds a pretty big majority wants President Obama and the Senate to act immediately on filling the vacancy on the Supreme Court left by Antonin Scalia‘s death.
42 percent of those polled said they’re likely to vote for a Democrat, as opposed to 39 percent for a Republican, but a whopping 62 percent said that the president and Senate should act now.
Only 34 percent believe that Obama shouldn’t get to nominate anyone for a lifetime appointment this late in his second and final term.
On the question of which candidates would do the better job of choosing Supreme Court nominations, Hillary Clinton beats out Bernie Sanders 47-40, while Donald Trump and Ted Cruz are tied at 26.
And speaking of the candidates, Sanders actually has a three-point lead over Clinton in this poll, and he fares better in a head-to-head matchup with Trump than Clinton does.
When asked which candidates they would most dread watching on TV for four years as president, Trump easily wins with 40 percent, followed by Clinton with 31 percent.
