An Alabama man learned the hard way that texting while driving can be hazardous to your health when he drove off a cliff after texting, “I need to quit texting, because I could die in a car accident.”
According to a report by Huntsville, Alabama’s WAFF, Chance Bothe’s eerie moment of clairvoyance came just prior to his driving his pickup truck into a ravine. Bothe survived the crash, but suffered a broken neck, a fractured skull, multiple injuries to his face and traumatic brain injuries.
Doctors had to resuscitate Bothe three times after the crash. Now, six months after the near-fatal accident, Bothe is opening up about his experience.
“They just need to understand, don’t do it. Don’t do it. It’s not worth losing your life,” Bothe told reporters. “I went to my grandmother’s funeral not long ago, and I kept thinking, it kept jumping into my head, I’m surprised that’s not me up in that casket. I came very close to that, to being gone forever.”
