Marco Rubio Might Want to Delete His Tweet About This College Football Player
On Saturday night, Sen. Marco Rubio tweeted a congratulatory message to University of Florida’s backup quarterback Treon Harris. But later that night, Harris was accused of sexually assaulting a female student in an on-campus residence hall.
After the Florida Gators beat Tennessee on Saturday afternoon, Rubio tweeted the following:
— Marco Rubio (@marcorubio) October 4, 2014
“This young man is a winner both on and off the field,” Rubio wrote.
Yikes. Irony alert, especially if the allegations prove correct.
As of this writing, Rubio’s PR team has not deleted the tweet.
Harris has been suspended indefinitely from all team activities, and he even deleted his own Twitter account.
