McCain Says Anti-Trump Protesters are ‘Misguided’
Sen. John McCain said in a Senate session Wednesday that the demonstrators taking to the streets in cities across America to protest Trump’s election were “misguided.”
McCain, who was reelected to his sixth term last week, said, “I congratulate the president-elect. My prayers are with him and his family as he prepares to assume our nation’s highest office. And I will do all in my power to help him lead us through the many challenges confronting our nation.”

He continued: “I’ve been on the losing side of elections before and it’s no fun.” But protesters unifying behind the slogan “Not My President” failed to engage in the “spirit of mutual respect that is essential for a free and democratic people,” he said.
