Megyn Kelly: I’m a ‘Combination of Mike Wallace, Oprah Winfrey and Larry the Cable Guy’

Alex Jones caused a major splash early Friday morning after leaking recordings of phone conversations he had with NBC journalist Megyn Kelly. The recordings were made during a number of preliminary discussions the two had in advance of their highly anticipated interview set to air on Sunday.

In one moment during Kelly’s extended effort to butter up the wily InfoWars host, she compared her style to a curious trio of media personalities: Mike Wallace, Oprah Winfrey and Larry the Cable Guy.

“I have not enjoyed being on the pointy end of the political spear. It was never anything I wanted to do,” Kelly said reflecting on her long feud with President Donald Trump during the 2016 campaign. “I’m a combination of Mike Wallace, Oprah Winfrey and Larry the Cable Guy.”

The references prompted a laugh — or some grunting noise — from Jones.

“I know Larry the cable guy. He’s a good guy,” said Jones.

“I love him,” laughed Kelly, “And so that’s what you’ll get in the interview, a little bit of all three of those.”

She then teased a delicious “red meat” dinner they could all have when it was over. In addition, Kelly also promised a still reticent Jones that she would not divulge the location of his InfoWars office.
