Michelle Wolf Responds to Trump’s WHCD Insult: ‘You’d Be on My Side if I Had Killed a Journalist’

Michelle Wolf fired back at Donald Trump on Wednesday after the president derided her as a “so-called Comedian.”

Trump blasted Wolff, the controversial host of last year’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner, after the WHCA announced it would not invite a comedian to host again next year.

“So-called comedian Michelle Wolf bombed so badly last year at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner that this year, for the first time in decades, they will have an author instead of a comedian,” he wrote. “Good first step in comeback of a dying evening and tradition! Maybe I will go?”

Wolf delivered a clean hit in response, referencing Trump’s defense of Saudi Arabia in the brutal murder of Jamal Khashoggi: “I bet you’d be on my side if I had killed a journalist. #BeBest.”

The WHCA announced that historian Ron Chernow would host Nerd Prom 2019, after Wolf’s set earlier this year sparked controversy. Her personal jabs at Sarah Huckabee Sanders caused the most outrage, as well as an endless news cycle.
