Mika and Joe Slam Trump on Late Night: ‘It’s Almost at the Point of No Return’

Morning Joe hosts, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski stopped by the set of Late Night with Seth Meyers to talk Donald Trump — both the president and the man they personally knew.

As any regular morning viewer might have guessed, the pair’s assessment of the administration was brutal.

“It’s far worse,” said Brzezinski. “It’s almost at the point of no return.”

“Dogs and cats,” said Scarborough.

The two shrugged off recent news that Trump had unfollowed them on Twitter, with Scarborough calling it the “highlight of the month.”

“In all seriousness, it shows we got in his head,” said Brzezinski. She also took a moment to rip swamp Republicans for “sucking up” to Trump.

“Honestly, the fact that Republicans are still sucking up to him at this point is kind of pathetic. The whole thing has turned into lies and misinformation, calling the news fake news, undermining the judiciary, undermining every branch of government,” Brezezinski noted. “I don’t care if you’re a Republican or Democratic, there’s right and there’s wrong and this guy’s wrong.”

Both on-air personalities have a long history with Trump, and spent much of the segment expressing their astonishment at the man who now occupies the Oval Office.

He’s a “hell of a lot more gracious in private, than this sort of realty T.V. show president that he plays on T.V.” said Scarborough. “We actually could tell a lot of stories about how this guy was genuinely kind, helped immigrants — actually that Mika knew — did all of these things, but for some reason, he can’t show it on T.V”

“It’s such a weird thing,” quipped Meyers. “Everybody else in show business are nice on television and assholes behind the camera.”
