Mike Tyson said today he supports Donald Trump for president and offered up a pretty lengthy and confusing defense of what The Donald has said on the campaign trail.
Tyson said that Americans are tired of the same old and proposed, “Let’s try something new. Let’s run America like a business, where no colors matter.”
He sort of defended what Trump said about Latinos by saying that Trump meant to say that “people are bad in all parts of the ethnic world,” though he admitted he needs someone to help him get his message more on point.
And then he said this:
“Any time people are going to say bad things about Latinos, they’re going to say bad things about blacks, bad things about any ethnic people, you know, whatever it is, that’s just what this country was built on. But it doesn’t stop us from striving. It doesn’t stop us from becoming president. It doesn’t stop us from opening the biggest Latino––Univision––company in the world.”
He asked, “Do you think Donald Trump thinks of Latinos in that way?” Tyson did admit that Trump “needs time to grow” as other presidents did.
