Monica Crowley Forgoes White House Position

Screen Shot 2017-01-16 at 12.22.32 PMFollowing a major plagiarism scandal, former Fox News analyst Monica Crowley announced Monday she would not be taking a position as Donald Trump‘s foreign policy advisor.

“After much reflection I have decided to remain in New York to pursue other opportunities and will not be taking a position in the incoming administration,” she said in a statement to The Washington Times, which publishes her columns. “I greatly appreciate being asked to be part of President-elect Trump’s team and I will continue to enthusiastically support him and his agenda for American renewal.”

Crowley’s resignation comes after CNN discovered multiple instances of plagiarism in her 2012 book What the (Bleep) Just Happened? , leading publisher HarperCollins to pull all remaining copies. Further investigations turned up even more lifted passages in her Times column and her Columbia doctoral dissertation.
