You’ve probably heard of the Iran Deal by now. You know, that thing that President Barack Obama and his administration keep pushing, while Congress continually threatens to kill it as soon as it’s put up to a vote. It’s basically a nuclear agreement between the United States, Iran and various allies regarding the latter country’s development and use of nuclear technology, something that many are freaking out about.
Hence the new celebrity-riddled video from Global Zero, an “international movement” campaigning for the “elimination of all nuclear weapons.” (Not nuclear technology, mind you, but nuclear weapons.) They’ve gathered together Queen Nor of Jordan, actors Jack Black, Natasha Lyonne, and Farshad Farahat, retired U.S. Ambassador Thomas Pickering, and the first African-American President of the United States, Morgan Freeman.
The just of the video? Pass the deal so that Iran doesn’t get a bomb, with which they could attack the United States and kill everyone. Or, as Lyonne puts it, we’d be “totally fried by a major nuclear bomb dead.”
Actually, they’re not actually worried about that at all — everyone’s just making fun of those who are truly afraid of nuclear annihilation. However, the video does encourage viewers to call their representatives and urge them to support the Iran Deal.
