Musical icon and Rock and Roll pioneer Chuck Berry passed away today, and his death at age 90 was confirmed by authorities just outside of St. Louis, Missouri.
“The St. Charles County Police Department sadly confirms the death of Charles Edward Anderson Berry Sr., better known as legendary musician Chuck Berry,” said police in a statement posted online.
The singer and guitarist was a legendary performer for decades, known for hits like “Johnny B. Goode” and “Sweet Little Sixteen.” Police say they were called to Berry’s residence earlier today, where they found him unconscious and failed to revive him.
