Rep. Nancy Pelosi addressed the House of Representatives today shortly after House Speaker Paul Ryan did the same. And just like her ideological foe, Pelosi hit a strong note of nonpartisan unity in response to this morning’s shooting of Rep. Steve Scalise and four others
Pelosi delivered what appeared to be a genuine heart-felt concern for the well being of Scalise and other victims, and also seemed to yearn for a transcendent moment that can heal our bitterly divided country.
Ryan cited an image of Democratic colleagues in prayer shortly after the shooting occurred, Pelosi followed on the very same prayer theme, saying “And so, I prayed for Barack Obama and I continue to pray for him and I pray for Donald Trump, that his presidency will be successful and that his family will be safe safe. It is about family.”
