New Poll: Most Think Trump Has Made ‘Unwanted Sexual Advances’ Towards Women
There are two new polls out this morning, both showing Hillary Clinton leading Donald Trump. Both also provide some insight into how the tape of him talking about grabbing women has impacted the race.
Polls from NBC/The Wall Street Journal and ABC/The Washington Post respectively show Clinton leading by 11 and 4. (Both were taken before the groping and sexual assault allegations against Trump burst onto the national scene.)
The NBC/WSJ poll shows Clinton making some gains among women and most people believing that Clinton would be better on women’s issues.
As for the tape of him saying the now-infamous words “grab ’em by the pussy,” 53 percent say it doesn’t disqualify him, though 64 percent say they have some concerns about it.
The ABC/WaPo poll also shows Clinton gaining on women and women’s issues.
63 percent say the Trump tape has “no difference” on their vote, while 35 percent say it makes them less likely to support him.
57 percent say Trump’s apology for that tape is not sincere, 52 percent say it was way more than simple “locker room talk,” and 62 percent say what Clinton said and did about her husband’s accusers is not a legitimate campaign issue.
But then there’s this question: “Do you think Trump probably has or has not made unwanted sexual advances toward women?”
68 percent say yes.
